[fm]: Fisker Eyes A Comeback With A Stylish, Self-Driving Electric Car

At CES this year, Fisker Inc will make two global debuts. The automotive company will share the first live look at its EMotion four-door luxury electric sedan, featuring a seamlessly, stylishly integrated LiDAR system for autonomous driving. It will also preview its proprietary flexible solid-state battery that promises a range of up to 500 miles on a single, one-minute charge.

It's a development that wont be built into Fisker cars for a few more years, but that founder Henrik Fisker calls a "new era in battery technology." The patent-pending battery could eventually improve the way we power "everything from a cell phone to an all-electric super-car."

It's also a big comeback opportunity for Fisker, who took a stab at high-end electric vehicles in 2007 but filed for bankruptcy after a disappointing product launch. As Fisker gears up for what he considers "the leading showcase for automotive technology,"
