Scott Kuhne is one of three winners of rental company HomeAway's #EiffelTowerAllYours contest, which offered up the first floor of the iconic landmark for an overnight stay during the UEFA Euro 2016 soccer tournament in Paris. The tournament kicked off on June 10 and runs through July 10.
More than 150,000 people, about half of them Americans, entered the contest.
This trip will carry on a family tradition for the Kuhnes.
Kuhne's mother, Marjorie, went to Paris when she was 13. She took his daughter (her granddaughter), Jessica, there when she was 13. Kuhne took his granddaughter there when she turned 14.
This trip will be the first time all of them will be in Paris at the same time and what better place to spend what is sure to be a memorable night than the Eiffel Tower.
A first-of-its-kind space, the Eiffel Tower pop-up apartment was created in less than 48 hours.
It features a comfortable living area, an urban greenhouse, and two bedrooms all featuring furnishings by Italian design house, Lago."In addition to the night in the Eiffel Tower apartment, which includes dinner and breakfast, the Kuhnes will spend three more nights in a HomeAway Paris rental.
Located on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most well-known structures in the world. French engineer and bridge builder Alexander Gustave Eiffel designed the Eiffel Tower to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the French Revolution. Since opening in 1889, more than 250 million visitors have visited the tower, with more than 7 million people visiting the tower each year.
