Google Tests Ability to Install Apps From Search Results.

Google is testing the ability to install apps directly from its search app, reports Android Police, citing several users who were able to grab screenshots of the feature. As seen below, users can install an application on Google Search.

When you search for a particular app, Google Search returns a result, displaying the app’s name with an install button below it, which downloads the app on the device connected to your Google account.

Then, Google Search pulls out the usual installation page, complete with permissions and details of the app, on Google Play to confirm the action. It looks like you can also purchase apps and add-ons without leaving Search. Since the feature isn’t official, only a handful of users were able to witness it.

Currently, users can only download apps from the Google Play Store. When you search for an app, Google Search will redirect you to the Google Play Store. If Google rolls out the feature globally, users will be able to download without leaving Search, dramatically saving time and effort.

The feature pushes Google way ahead of its competitors. The search engine giant loves to be in the bleeding edge. The feature is only available on the Google Search app. It doesn’t work on the Google Chrome browser. Why not check out the feature yourself?
