Gas prices have fallen again, and there are predictions they could go even lower.
AAA Northeast’s weekly survey of local prices found the cost down another three cents, the seventh straight week of decreasing prices. Prices have fallen 22 cents over those seven weeks.
A AAA spokeswoman said prices may fall further.
“Crude oil prices haven’t been this low since 2003,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast director of public and legislative affairs. “Strong oil supplies, coupled with the lessening demand we typically see during the winter, are signs that prices could even go lower.”
AAA’s survey finds self-serve regular unleaded averaging $1.84 per gallon. The local price is one cent above the national average for regular unleaded of $1.83.
A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 24 cents higher at $2.08. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 73 cents, from a low of $1.66 to a high of $2.39.
